2008 SUMMER PROJECT
The Badwater Ultra-marathon is the "world toughest foot race". It is a 135 mile
course starting at 282 feet below sea level in California's "Death Valley"
and ending at an elevation of 8,360 feet. The race usually takes place in
July when temperatures even in a tree shade are over 120 F. Not many people -
even among ultra-marathoners are capable of finishing this race.
Well....Jonathan Gunderson did. A WHM partner since 2002, Jonathan was the
youngest person competing in 2006....and he completed the race. He has since
then returned every year. The purpose - to raise funds to construct clean water
wells for primary schools in Iganga and to raise money for the WHM child
sponsorship program.
This year, Jonthan is attempting to raise $6,000 to build 2 water
wells in Iganga. To support this project, visit Gundys website at:

As Christian believers, we have been commissioned to take the Gospel of Jesus
Christ to the nations of the earth as a witness before Jesus Christ returns. In
response to that command, World Harvest Mission was formally established in 2001,
and is based in Sacramento California. Our mission is to
facilitate short and long term mission trips to East Africa, for the
purpose of responding to both spiritual
and physical needs among the most vulnerable adult and
children populations.

Our policy is to work with the local churches such as Makerere Full Gospel Church, and Gaba Community Church. We also partner with organizations such as ‘The Gospel Mission to Uganda’, ‘Africa Renewal Ministries’, and the Scripture Union of Uganda (SU) and the Fellowship of Uganda Christian Unions (FOCUS). These organizations assist with the outreach effort in Schools and Universities. Although most of our time in Uganda is usually spent in Kampala, we also get to visit and
minister in other cities like Jinja, Entebbe and Masaka, as well as tour interesting sites like the source of the Nile and Bujagali Falls and the Equator which is on the Kampala-Masaka road.

Our teams usually spend two weeks in Uganda, where we minister in Pastors and Church Leaders Conferences, Worship Conferences, Women’s Conferences, as well as visit Orphanages, Schools, and University Campuses. Often, World Harvest Mission teams are composed of members from different States and from different Churches in the United States and in Canada. College students and teenagers are encouraged to experience serving God overseas in a different cultural setting.
We thank all those who have donated to the various WHM projects in East Africa.
You have made made it possible for us to construct water wells, provide tuition, open
knitting centers in Rwanda, Kenya and Uganda, and donate thousands of pounds of
much needed computers, knitting machines, sewing machines, books and
supplies to schools, orphanages and churches.
